A New Chapter Begins: Welcome to Dulwich College Shanghai 2026–27

The 2026–27 academic year is underway at Dulwich College Shanghai. Across the College, students have returned to classrooms, reconnected with friends and teachers, and begun settling into the rhythm of a new school year. For some, it is a return to familiar routines; for others, the beginning of a completely new Dulwich experience.

As we begin our first academic year as One College, Two Campuses, these first days offer a glimpse of what matters most: students learning, families connecting and our community coming together.

A Warm Welcome Back to Campus

The start of term brought busy corridors, welcoming classrooms and plenty of catching up between friends. Students returned to lessons, met their teachers and began exploring the subjects, projects and activities that will shape their learning this year.

New students spent their first days becoming familiar with daily routines, supported by teachers and classmates along the way. Whether finding a new classroom, joining a discussion or taking part in their first activity, every student began the year in their own way.

"I'm so excited to start the new school year! I was really happy to see my teachers and friends. On the first day, we did a science project with water, and it was so much fun!"

Hannah ( Year 2 Student )

"I'm new to the school this year, and I'm really excited! My old school didn't have 3D printers, so I can't wait to try them out here at Dulwich."

Jeffery ( Year 5 Student )

"It's a bit intimidating because I'm in Year 12, but I'm feeling pretty good. I’m excited about making more connections, being an IB student and having more freedom."

Mona ( Year 12 Student )

A Place to Belong

Starting at a new school brings plenty to discover, for students and families alike. Our New Family Induction sessions provided practical information, introductions and opportunities to connect as families began their time at the College.

School leaders and staff shared insights into learning and life at Dulwich College Shanghai, alongside the services and resources available to support families throughout the year. Parents also had the opportunity to meet members of Friends of Dulwich, our parent association, and begin building connections within the community.

Sharing Expertise Across the College

Ahead of the first day of classes, colleagues from both campuses came together for a dedicated day of professional learning and collaboration.

Teachers and professional support staff shared perspectives, explored new approaches and worked with colleagues from across the College as they prepared for the year ahead.

Sessions included the launch of our AI Critical Thinking Framework, designed to help students learn how to engage with artificial intelligence thoughtfully, responsibly and effectively. Colleagues also worked in new teams, exchanging ideas and building connections across the College.

By learning together and sharing expertise, our staff continue to develop their practice and strengthen the learning experience for students across Dulwich College Shanghai.
